Plan A Pilgrimage to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine

Are you looking for a peaceful and inspiring place to visit? A place to make a private day of reflection? A pilgrimage for a group? Plan now to visit this holy and historic shrine dedicated to the Sorrowful Mother.

Paved walkways winding among tall and colorful trees lead to Stations of the Cross and replicas of Lourdes and the Sepulcher Grotto – favorite places of prayer and meditation – and to other grottos. One can see various wildlife as well: turkeys, deer, squirrels and birds.Your time of prayer may include, confession, morning Mass, afternoon devotions, spending quiet time before our Eucharistic Lord during Eucharistic Adoration held monthly at 2:30 pm. on the first Sunday of the month. Or perhaps to sit in silence and meditate before one of the many grottos throughout the grounds.

Devotions are held on the First Sunday of the month beginning at 2:30 pm., including blessing with the Relic of the True Cross.

THE SHRINE CAFETERIA IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS.

The Shrine cafeteria is available any day of the week for groups of 15 or more.

At the present time, the Sorrowful Mother Shrine has no overnight accommodations or overnight retreats. We are able to provide a Day of Reflection, or a Day of Recollection. There are ample overnight acomodations available in nearby towns. The Shrine is located less than 40 minutes from the shores of Lake Erie.
